Is Jose Mourinho taking a massive risk with Manchester United's defence of the FA Cup? Or is he responding firmly to an awful performance against Hull City by giving his fringe players a chance to prove themselves? Either way, he's made nine changes to Thursday's side for today's game against Wigan Athletic.
The only two players to keep their place are Chris Smalling and Marcos Rojo, who will play in the centre of defence. Luke Shaw and Timothy Fosu-Mensah are given the chance to gallop youthfully up and down the flanks from full-back, and Sergio Romero gets a run-out in goal.
Ahead of them, Bastian Schweinsteiger! That's right! He'll be partnered in midfield by Marouane Fellaini, because all Jose Mourinho's blessings are mixed.
With questions hanging over his place in the squad, Anthony Martial returns, possibly on the left, and will be looking for a performance. Juan Mata will make play from No. 10 and Henrikh Mkhitaryan, perhaps the only nailed on first-teamer in the side, will start on the right. Up front, Wayne Rooney captains the team and will be looking to take his first steps towards 500 goals.
Alternatively, we could end up with Rooney at No. 10, Mata and Mkhitaryan on the flanks, and Martial up front. We're guessing, fundamentally.
On the bench we have young goalkeeper Joel Pereira, Daley Blind, Axel Tuanzebe, Ander Herrera, Ashley Young, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Marcus Rashford.
