Manchester United academy player Angel Gomes is away with England at the U-17 World Cup. Gomes came on as a substitute against Chile over the weekend and scored a screamer of a free-kick to put England up 4-0.
Yes, United players’ involvement on international duty has been so uneventful over the last ten days that a goal scored by a kid is the best thing we have to report. Gomes is clearly a special talent though, and after making his first-team debut at the end of last season, we may well see the 17 year-old involved with the big boys again this year.
