Right then, let’s get to it. Two weeks of international faffing around are over, and we are back to the Premier League, back to Manchester United, and back with a bang.

United travel to Anfield this Saturday lunchtime with a seven point lead over their preferred rivals. They do so having scored 21 goals in seven games, taking 19 points in the process. Liverpool, meanwhile, haven’t kept a clean sheet home or away since Arsenal turned up and dissolved in a puddle of their own neuroses. All of which adds up to something unfamiliar and slightly terrifying: confidence.

It might be outright cockiness were United not in the grip of a minor injury crisis. Marouane Fellaini tweaked something while away with Belgium, and Michael Carrick pulled something while not away with England, and as such United have just two central midfielders for today’s adventure. Nemanja Matic, Ander Herrera: make sure you do all your stretches.

Still, Liverpool might not be able to defend, and might be missing Sadio Mane, but they are still one of the most dangerous teams in the league when they get everything working. And United’s defence haven’t really been put to a proper test this season. And somebody’s going to have to play at left-back. And, and, and ... oh, it’s all doomed.

Premier League schedule

12.30 p.m. in the UK, 7.30 a.m. on the east coast of the USA, and a frankly anti-social 4.30 a.m. over on the west. Morning!

Premier League TV channel

In the UK, the game can be found on both Sky Sports Premier League (since it’s a Premier League game) and Sky Sports Main Event (because it’s a Big Deal). In the USA, you’ll need to point your eyes at either NCBSN or UNIVERSO, depending on your linguistic preferences. Everybody else, take a look at livesoccertv.

Premier League streaming

SkyGo in the UK, NBC Sports Live in the USA.

Starting lineup

Predicted lineup, assuming everybody that might be fit is fit: David de Gea; Antonio Valencia, Eric Bailly, Phil Jones, Ashley Young; Nemanja Matic, Ander Herrera; Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Jesse Lingard, Marcus Rashford; Romelu Lukaku.

And here’s the actual lineup. Just the eight out of 11 today. Is that Ashley Young on the wing, or are we going to see further adventures in 3-4-3?

This is our live thread for the game, so come and hang around with us in the comments.
