Manchester United return to action on Tuesday, travelling to face Swansea City in the Carabao Cup. José Mourinho is expected to take the opportunity to rest a couple of his key players, with photographers from the Manchester Evening News failing to spot David de Gea and Antonio Valencia as the squad jetted off this morning. Given the amount of football they’ve both played recently, it’s probably not a bad idea.

However, other key squad members have however travelled, including Romelu Lukaku, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial and Nemanja Matić. Phil Jones has also recovered in time to make Mourinho’s squad, though Marouane Fellaini and Paul Pogba are still sidelined with injuries. Luke Shaw could make his first start of the season; his only other appearance in the current campaign came as United beat Burton Albion in the last round of this tournament.

Youngsters Axel Tuanzebe and Scott McTominay — and goalkeepers Joel Pereira and Kieran O'Hara — have all been included, and will be hoping for some precious first team minutes.
