In what must rank as the most amusingly incoherent cup draw since, er, the previous round, the last eight of the Carabao Cup has finally been decided. Two hours late. By a cricketer and a rugby player. In a deeply odd pre-recorded video featuring some very exciting sound balancing and some easy-flowing banter.
But hey! It’s a decent draw for Manchester United, who will visit Championship side Bristol City. The last time the two clubs met was in February 1980, when United ran out 4-0 winners at Old Trafford. Same again would do nicely, though it won’t be a gimme. The Robins have been doing pretty well recently, and are currently seventh in the table.
Elsewhere in the draw, Chelsea are visiting Bournemouth, Arsenal are at home to West Ham United, and Leicester City will host Manchester City.
