Manchester United draw Chelsea away in the FA Cup quarter finals

The Red Devils get the toughest possible draw in the FA Cup

FA Cup holders Manchester United have been handed a difficult draw in the next round , as they have been picked to face Chelsea away from home. The draw means that José Mourinho gets another reunion with his old team, and United return to the scene of their worst loss this season - a 4-0 drubbing in the league.

Most Reds would’ve preferred to be drawn against one of the weaker teams left in the competition, like Lincoln City or Arsenal, but no such luck. United have improved markedly since their last trip to Stamford Bridge, but Chelsea’s form has shown no signs of slowing down either. The Blues are a force to be reckoned with, particularly at home, and Antonio Conte’s men don’t have any of the fixture pile-up that Mourinho is always complaining about.

The tie will be played on the weekend of March 11-12, which means that United’s Premier League match at Southampton will have to be rescheduled.

Early thoughts on the draw? Is this the last thing United needed, or is it better to test ourselves against the best? Have your say below.
