Anthony Martial denies rumours of Manchester United departure

United's out-of-favour forward has directly challenged newspaper reports linking him with Paris Saint-Germain.

As Charlie Austin wrote, "It is a truth universally acknowledged that a footballer, that a footballer in want of game time, must come into possession of a transfer rumour."

Anthony Martial isn't playing much for Manchester United at the moment. He was decent against Wigan in the FA Cup, but he didn't get off the bench as United chased the game against Hull City and breezed past Leicester City.

Putting two and two together, the Sun — we won't be linking, obviously — have reported that a concerned Martial believes that Jose Mourinho (a) doesn't like him and (b) is attempting to use him as a scapegoat for United's problems. Ergo, Martial has decided to force his way out at the end of the season, with PSG keen to take him back to France.

So far, so plausible. But Martial's having none of it:

TBB's official position on the matter is that we think Anthony Martial is very good and would like to watch him playing football for Manchester United, please, if that's not too much to ask.
