Uh oh. After several months of relative good fortune with injuries, Manchester United have suddenly had their London buses moment this weekend. According to reports, Anthony Martial has picked up an unspecified injury, Marcus Rashford has come down with illness, and even Wayne Rooney - even at “full fitness” already a desperation option - has been clattered by Phil Jones (naturally) and rendered more useless.

With Zlatan Ibrahimović already missing through suspension, it means that United are missing their first, second, and third options for the lead striker position, as well as Rooney. Henrikh Mkhitaryan may be asked to be play upfront, with Ashley Young and Jesse Lingard filling the wide positions. The ugly sight of Marouane Fellaini as a target man is also a possibility.

According to the Manchester Evening News, these are the confirmed squad members so far:

David de Gea

Sergio Romero

Dean Henderson

Antonio Valencia

Matteo Darmian

Timothy Fosu-Mensah

Phil Jones

Eric Bailly

Chris Smalling

Daley Blind

Marcos Rojo

Luke Shaw

Michael Carrick

Marouane Fellaini

Ander Herrera

Paul Pogba

Jesse Lingard

Ashley Young

Welp.
