José Mourinho is treating Manchester United’s first leg Round of 16 tie away at Rostov with all the disdain that this ridiculous pitch deserves.
Sergio Romero continues in goal, as he has in all the lesser games this season. Ahead of him, United appear to be playing a 5-3-2. Preparation for a formation change against Chelsea perhaps? Ashley Young, Phil Jones, Chris Smalling, Daley Blind, and Marcos Rojo line up in what must surely be the least convincing back five in football history. It’s possible that Mourinho read our column on choosing a left-back, and is using this match to hold auditions.

In midfield, Paul Pogba - who will never, ever be rested apparently - lines up alongside Ander Herrera and Marouane Fellaini. Up front Ibrahimovic and his elbows are playing ahead of Henrikh “Please God Don’t Get Injured Today” Mkhitaryan.
