Having contrived to draw an eminently winnable game against Anderlecht in midweek, Manchester United will endeavour to do their best to ruin Easter Sunday when they play host to Premier League’s champions-elect Chelsea. José Mourinho’s side haven’t lost a league match since the last time they played the Blues, but we can all still remember October’s 4-0 drubbing at Stamford Bridge like it was yesterday.
United head into this game without Chris Smalling, Phil Jones and Juan Mata, who are all on the treatment table. Wayne Rooney and Ashley Young are both doubtful, but they were unlikely to make Mourinho’s starting lineup regardless. Chelsea, for their part, have a clean bill of health, meaning United will have to contend with the likes of N’Golo Kanté, Eden Hazard, and Diego Costa. Gulp.
