For the most important match in Manchester United's history — give or take one or two others, maybe — Jose Mourinho has selected a mixed lineup, blending Europa League and first-team regulars along with ... well, whatever Marouane Fellaini is.
The big Belgian will stroll and clank around midfield this evening in the company of Ander Herrera and Paul Pogba, so that's some comfort. Ahead of them, Marcus Rashford will lead the attack, in a fluid front three with Jesse Lingard and Henrikh Mkhitaryan. Well, it's definitely a front three. The fluidity remains to be seen.
In defence, Antonio Valencia captains the team from right full-back, and Matteo Darmian will potter about on the left. Eric Bailly and Daley Blind keep their places in the middle, and Sergio Romero, who has been doing pretty well in this competition so far, starts in nets.
On the bench, helping David de Gea with his dot-to-dot puzzles, will be Chris Smalling, Phil Jones, Michael Carrick, Juan Mata, Anthony Martial, and of course Wayne Rooney. Bit harsh on Axel Tuanzebe, maybe, but Jose gonna Jose.
