POLL: Who should start for Manchester United in the Europa League final?

With a few places in the starting XI still unclear, have your say on which players should fill them.

José Mourinho’s rotation choices in the last several league matches of the season were strong indicators of which players he considers to be sure starters in the Europa League final. Sergio Romero, Antonio Valencia, Daley Blind, Matteo Darmian, Paul Pogba, Ander Herrera, Henrik Mkhitaryan, and Marcus Rashford are all practically guaranteed to start on Wednesday against Ajax.

There are still three places in the team that are potentially up for grabs however. Vote below to have to have your say on how you’d like to see these spots filled.

The Attack

It is not clear whether Mourinho will opt to line up in a 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1, so there may be room for more than one attacker to play alongside Rashford and Mkhitaryan. Assuming Mourinho elects for the former formation, who would you choose?

The Midfield

Pogba and Herrera have both benefited from having a third midfielder next to them at times, with Marouane Fellaini the preferred candidate as of late. Still, Axel Tuanzebe has impressed in the deep midfield role these last couple of weeks, and Michael Carrick’s experience cannot be dismissed as a viable option either.

The Back Line

With three of the four places already decided, the only question is who will partner Daley Blind at center back. Chris Smalling and Phil Jones have effectively been auditioning for the role in the last two weeks. Jones’ start on Sunday would have been an indication that he was being overlooked for the final, but that may not be the case as Smalling had apparently picked up a minor injury beforehand.
