Manchester United are hoping to end José Mourinho’s first season at the club on a high note, by adding a second trophy in Wednesday’s Europa League final clash against Ajax. Against a backdrop of horrible events back at home, the team will be hoping to maintain their focus for this all-important final.
Ajax will be the fresher of the two sides, having wrapped up their domestic campaign over a week and a half ago. But even though United’s own league exploits continued up until Sunday, very few of the likely starters have been heavily featured lately. Mourinho’s recent rotation policy is a strong indicator of who will be in the starting XI, with just a few places yet to be clarified. After the season’s final press conference was understandably canceled, no further team news has been made available.
