Danny Rose is considering a move back North, and Manchester United are interested. Rose is of limited competence, but is ruddy fast and fit, and that's pretty much the essential two qualities of a modern full back. Luke Shaw could still be the man for the job, if he can fix being injury prone and unfit (the two aren't totally separate, too). However, United could battle it out with Manchester City for Monaco's excellent Benjamin Mendy.
The Telegraph considers United to be the favourite for the player. As long as United are aiming to fix the midfield, central defence, wings and striker positions too, then there's not a problem.
Manchester United, City, and many other teams can't stop signing players from Moston Tigers Under-8s. I'm not sure what this has to do with anything, if I'm honest, but beggars can't be choosers when it comes to the news. You get what you're given, unless you're Umberto Eco. And he's dead.
What did we learn, tactically speaking?
Andreas Pereira will not be forced to endure any piano lessons with Tony Adams, as he returns from Granada to Manchester United. The Brazil Under-23 international is expected to be given a chance by Jose Mourinho. Pereira scored five goals in 37 appearances for Granada, and apparently had an impressive spell in Spain. There's certainly room for a player of his technical ability, but now is the time to make sure he doesn't turn into another Joe Cole, because Joe Cole was a disappointment.
