It’s the big one, folks! Manchester United face off against Manchester City in the first ever Manchester derby to take place outside of Manchester. Manchester. United will be playing in their third pre-season fixture of their tour of the USA, and City will be playing their first. It is also the opening fixture for both clubs in the very ludicrously named International Champions Cup. Champions? Spurs are even in it, for Christ’s sake.

Anyway, while the managers and players have been quick to point out that no Manchester derby can ever truly be friendly - despite the fact that even the competitive matches between this two have been generally quite friendly in recent years - don’t let them hype you up. The City players are fresh off their holidays, and both sets of players will be sweltering in the Texas summer heat. Let’s just hope for a few goals and no new injuries.

Pre-season friendly schedule

Kick off is at 03:00 UK time on Friday (set your alarms, boys and girls), which is 10:00 PM on the east coast of the USA (on Thursday) and 07:00 PM over on the other side.

Pre-season friendly TV channel

In the UK, you’re out of luck. This match is not being broadcast outside of MUTV. In the USA, tune in to ESPN or ESPN Deportes. Everybody else, head over to LiveSoccerTV.

Pre-season friendly streaming

Nothing (legal) in the UK; and WatchESPN in the US.
