It appears that José Mourinho is becoming increasingly frustrated as the summer goes on. The manager wanted to get his targets signed as early as possible so that they could start preparing for the preseason tour in the United States. However, only Victor Lindelöf has signed so far. Big deals for Nemanja Matić and Álvaro Morata have been rumored for weeks now and we’ve even heard they’ve already agreed to contracts with United, yet the club hasn’t been able to pull the trigger and acquire the players.

It’s definitely not been the offseason that United fans were dreaming of after early reports that Antoine Griezmann was very interested in joining the squad and a wild week where everyone thought Ronaldo was leaving Real Madrid and that Manchester was the clear landing spot. United fans remain hopeful of other signings including James Rodriguez, although it appears that we won’t be getting any anytime soon. There were almost 30 players linked with the club this offseason and, while you obviously can't sign all of them, we expected more than one player to be signed at the beginning of July.
All of this appears to be putting a strain on the relationship between José Mourinho and executive vice-chairman, Ed Woodward. Following United’s win over Ajax in the Europa League final, Jose Mourinho went on the record saying, "Ed Woodward has my analysis, has what I want, what I would like for more than two months. Now it’s for him, now for the owners and the people who work with him, so I just wait."
With only one deal done thus far, you have to wonder how upset Mourinho is with Woodward at this point.
