The FA Cup is known for its shocks and surprises, but new ground was broken today, as Manchester United were drawn against two teams. Jose Mourinho’s side will play both Huddersfield Town and Birmingham City, 11 men against 22, for a place in the quarter-finals. Hang on, we’re getting a message from our editor ...

... right ...

... ah. Yes, that does make more sense ...

... okay ...

... ahem. Manchester United will play either Huddersfield Town or Birmingham City, who are due to replay their fourth round game after a 1-1 draw in Yorkshire. It will be an away game for United, who of course lost at the John Smith’s stadium earlier this season. You may recall Victor Lindelof making a berk out of himself.

The last time United played Birmingham, on the other hand, was in January 2011, a 5-0 win in the Premier League. The Blues were relegated that season and haven’t returned since. Presumably Mourinho will be hoping for a chance to renew that lapsed acquaintance, while Lindelof will be entertaining thoughts of revenge. Should probably be thinking about defending, Victor! Ho ho ho.

The game will be played at some point over the weekend beginning 17th February. We don’t know if United will be on television or not, but they probably will. They usually are.
