Daley Blind negotiating move to AS Roma - reports

The Dutch utility man is close to a deadline day move to Serie A, according to reports from Italy.

Just when it seemed that Manchester United were set for a quiet end to the January transfer window, up stepped Italian master of whispers Gianluca DiMarzio to set the cat amongst the pigeons. According to reporting from DiMarzio earlier today, Dutch defender Daley Blind is negotiating a move to AS Roma.

Blind has reportedly already agreed to the move in principle, and is now awaiting an agreement between the two clubs. The utility man made his fair share of appearances last season under Jose Mourinho, but has found himself on the outside looking in more often than not this season. With Luke Shaw’s return to form and favor, Blind is at least third in the pecking order at left-back, and even further back than that at center back and holding midfield.

Roma are likely seeking a replacement for left-back Emerson Palmieri, who joined Chelsea earlier on Tuesday.
