And they said transfer deadline day would be dull. Ha! Manchester United have stunned the world with a Deadline Day Swoop™ for somebody that we’re assuming is one of the most promising young goalkeepers around. Matej Kovar, just 17, has come to Old Trafford from FC Slovacko. Ta-ra, Dave! Enjoy Madrid! We’ve got your replacement sorted!

(No no no that was just a joke please don’t go anywhere Dave don’t leave us Dave please hold me.)

So what do we know about young Kovar? Nothing, really. Sorry about that. If you do, please do enlighten us in the comments below. Here’s what United’s official website has to tell us:

The 17-year-old is a talented young goalkeeper who has already appeared for Czech Republic’s Under-18s on two occasions, highlighting his promising pedigree and excellent potential. An exciting prospect, Kovar has signed a professional contract with the club and will soon join the ranks of the Academy, specifically with Kieran McKenna’s impressive Under-18s team.

Subject to international clearance, naturally. Welcome, Matej!
