Manchester United are getting the misery out of the way early this weekend, travelling to take on Chelsea in Saturday’s early kickoff. José Mourinho’s men may have roared back to beat Newcastle United before the international break, but the fact they needed to do so against one of the Premier League’s weakest sides isn’t a great omen.
For their part, Chelsea have enjoyed a great start to the season. They’re still unbeaten since former Napoli coach Maurizio Sarri took charge in the summer, and are playing some of the most entertaining football the division’s seen in recent years. The Stamford Bridge support certainly aren’t missing the Special One for now.
Chelsea head into the game with a full-strength team. Alas, United aren’t so lucky. Mourinho will be without Marcos Rojo and Jesse Lingard, while an impressively enormous list of doubtfuls includes Alexis Sánchez, Luke Shaw, Marouane Fellaini, Nemanja Matić and Ander Herrera. Gulp.
