The Ole Gunnar Solskjaer era starts now. Manchester United travel to Solskjaer’s former employers Cardiff City on Saturday, giving the new caretaker manager a decent chance to start his tenure with a Premier League win.
Romelu Lukaku missed training this week with compassionate leave, and will likely not be involved. Alexis Sánchez has only just returned to Carrington and remains unavailable with injury. After Solskjaer said in his first interview that all players now start with a clean slate, Paul Pogba is expected to be reinstated into the starting XI. Youngsters Angel Gomes and James Garner could be on the bench, as both were named in the traveling squad.
