Ole Gunnar Solskjær’s successful start to life as Manchester United manager has ensured a surprisingly pleasant Christmas at Old Trafford, though he faces his toughest test yet when Bournemouth visit on Sunday. Eddie Howe’s side head into the game only six points in arrears of United, though three defeats in their last four have seen them slip into the lower half of the table. Now may be as good a time as any to face them.

United will be without Marcos Rojo, Chris Smalling and Scott McTominay; Anthony Martial and Alexis Sánchez are both in doubt. The Cherries, who were battered 5-0 by Tottenham on Boxing Day, will be without four regulars: Adam Smith, Lewis Cook, Dan Gosling and Simon Francis are all on the treatment table.
