Anthony Martial fit to face Sevilla

But Paul Pogba may not make it back to Manchester United’s first-team squad.

There were two Frenchmen missing from Manchester United’s squad to face Liverpool, but one of them is back ahead of the must-win game against Sevilla. According to Jose Mourinho, Anthony Martial is back to full strength and so he will, presumably, return to the first-team squad.

The other Frenchman, Paul Pogba, is less of a sure thing. He missed United’s open training session today and, though he did apparently train later on, Mourinho doesn’t know whether he’ll make it back in time.

In any case, it’s not exactly clear whether either player would walk straight back into the starting XI. Presumably the plan against Sevilla will involve a little less defending and a little more possession. But the 11 that started for United against Liverpool excelled in the one department Mourinho prizes above all others: they all did exactly as they were told. Freshness will likely dictate a couple of changes, but we’d guess at a pretty similar team overall.

Other injury news: everybody who was crocked is still crocked.
