Incredible news coming out of Manchester United today, and it’s top of The Mirror’s website with good reason. United are gearing up to play Liverpool at the weekend, and it would be a chance for Liverpool to leapfrog United in the chase for second, or for United to put some distance between them and third if they were to win. United have Sevilla up next, meaning that Jose Mourinho might play defensively in order to save on resources, and it would fit in with his usual conservatism, the one which is strangely riskier than just attacking his opponents. Anyway, that incredible news, in light of all this: United players drove to training.

Fulham defender/winger Ryan Sessegnon has long been linked with Manchester United, Liverpool and Manchester City. He seems a hugely talented teenage prospect, and one who could improve himself and the team wherever he ended up of those three clubs. However, it seems as if his favourite destination is Spurs, as he can work with Mauricio Pochettino and stay in London.

King pillock Phil Neville continues to talk as if he offers anything of worth to the world. There are no new insights, and there is no reason to think that he either should have been given the job, or given a chance to interview for it. Oh, wait, they didn’t interview him for it. It’s all above board, naturally.

Romelu Lukaku is back in the goals for United, and here he explains that he considers himself Mourinho’s pet. It’s handy having players who might actually listen to their managers. Consider Phil Jones and Chris Smalling can barely listen to their own thoughts, you can see why United need more players with the mindset of Lukaku.
