Good news! Manchester United could be in for Lyon playmaker Nabil Fekir. He is available for around £60m, and was chased by Liverpool before the transfer broke down. According to reports that was due to one of two things - either Liverpool wouldn’t go above around £50m, or they were looking to knock down the price because of a serious knee injury that Fekir has previously suffered. Jean-Michael Aulas, the Lyon president, has hinted that United are in for him after saying he had long discussions with United manager Jose Mourinho.
News! After threatening to leave Manchester United on a free transfer, and driving a hard bargain after he recognised that United would have to shell out £30m in order to replace him, it seems that Marouane Fellaini will remain at Old Trafford. He has apparently rejected a deal from Arsenal in order to sign a two-year extension with his current club. He’s useful in that he creates havoc in the opposing penalty area, and he’s use-less everywhere else.
According to ESPNFC, after struggling with United for the last two seasons, Paul Pogba now has his time to shine in the World Cup. It’s a relatively old piece, but that just goes to show for how long Pogba has been able to show such poor form while retaining the hopes of most people who watch him every week in the Premier League. Time is running out for him. He is in danger of becoming an escape goat if France don’t sort out their mess soon.
And lastly, there is praise in The Independent for Jesse Lingard, who apparently represents England’s national side. It is bizarre watching them get all giddy after two wins over absolute nobodies, but on the other hand it is in no way surprising. Every four years.
