Manchester United will reveal their home kit for the new season next week, the club have announced. It’ll be worn for the first time when the Reds go head-to-head with Club America in Phoenix, Arizona on July 19. According to the Manchester Evening News, the date was revealed at the same time as the club announced Kohler, an American manufacturing company, as the club’s “first ever sleeve sponsor.” The full statement reads as follows:

“Manchester United and Kohler will celebrate the partnership with United fans around the world on 19 July when the new 2018/19 home shirt, to be unveiled next week, is worn for the first time by the men’s team in the opening fixture of Tour 2018 against Club America in Phoenix, Arizona.”

Back in May, website Footy Headlines posted mock-ups of what they think the new United kit will look like. They rather ominously think the strip will be “unlike any the club has worn before”, featuring a red shirt that fades into black stripes, accompanied by black shorts and a similar gradient pattern on the socks. Gulp.
