Alexis Sánchez hasn’t started for Manchester United since picking up a knock in their FA Cup third round clash against Reading almost a month ago, but the Chilean is expected to be involved when the Reds go head-to-head with Arsenal in the same competition on Friday evening.
He’ll doubtless be expecting some tough treatment from the Emirates crowd, having left the Gunners to join United last January, though Ole Gunnar Solskjær doesn’t think it’ll be a problem. The United boss told MUTV:
“He’ll be involved. I think he’ll love it if the crowd turn against him. As a player, pride kicks in and you think ‘I’ll show all of you’. He’s been fantastic in training, his attitude has been spot on so hopefully he’ll enjoy the game.”
Solskjær also confirmed that United still have three players on the sidelines. While Chris Smalling is expected to return in the near future, Marouane Fellaini and Marcos Rojo will still be out for a while. Expect Solskjær to take the chance to rotate the team on Friday, with the likes of Sergio Romero and Romelu Lukaku sure to be hoping for a start.
