Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjær has offered some early team news ahead of the Reds’ Europa League clash with AZ Alkmaar on Thursday. Solskjær has confirmed that Anthony Martial will still be unavailable, having missed the last five games with a hamstring injury. There is, however, a chance that Aaron Wan-Bissaka may recover from a bout of tonsillitis in time to make the trip to the Netherlands.

Speaking of Martial in his press conference after Monday’s draw with Arsenal, Solskjær said: “Maybe the weekend [against Newcastle United, he will be back] but if not, after the weekend. Definitely not Thursday.”

Phil Jones is also sidelined with a knock sustained in the penalty shootout win over Rochdale in the Carabao Cup last week. Eric Bailly is sidelined with a long-term knee injury, and latest reports suggest he’ll be out until the new year. There’s better news for Diogo Dalot and Angel Gomes, who are both expected to make the trip to Alkmaar.
