Manchester United could sign Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho as soon as January.
Sancho is known to be the number one target for United this summer, but there is a chance that a transfer could be brought forward to January as Borussia Dortmund could be tempted to sell.
The 19-year-old England international has clashed with Lucien Favre after being late on a number of occasions to club duties, a concern that does not seem to have put off United or other suitors such as Liverpool, according to a report in the Independent. Real Madrid are also said to be interested, along with former club Manchester City.
United have long been linked with a move for Sancho, who was recently substituted by Dortmund manager Favre just 36 minutes into a defeat against Bayern Munich, as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is keen to recruit a right-sided winger. He is expected to cost around £100 million. The recent clashes over discipline have led to the German club becoming open to a January transfer for Sancho, despite having previously agreed to sell him in the coming summer, providing his valuation was met.
There could be more transfers in January, with other reports suggesting that both Declan Rice and Mario Mandzukic are targets, while Braut Erling Haaland could be the target of a £60 million transfer which would then see him remain at RB Salzburg until the end of the season. Nemanja Matic could be one player to depart in the winter having failed to break into the first team meaningfully this summer. Alexis Sanchez and Chris Smalling could both see their loan moves to Italy, with Inter Milan and Roma respectively, confirmed as permanent deals.
United face Aston Villa on Sunday as they look to get back to win their first game after the international break.
