The Jadon Sancho transfer rumors took an interesting twist over the weekend.
A staggering £120m transfer fee has reportedly been set for the Manchester United target and Borussia Dortmund star, and Chelsea appear to have the money to spend. According to The Daily Mail, Chelsea are now working on a deal that could see them fork out a club-record fee for one of the world’s biggest talents.
United have been linked with Sancho for almost a year now, but could now be beaten to their number one transfer target by Chelsea. Liverpool are said to be interested as well, but the Premier League leaders are unwilling to meet Dortmund’s valuation.
After the Court of Arbitration reduced Chelsea’s transfer ban, the Blues appear to have to money and permission from management to go after Sancho, who has 15 goals in 38 domestic and international appearances this season.
In similar fashion to the speculation surrounding another United target — Erling Haaland — Chelsea could potentially clinch Sancho’s signature in the January transfer window, before loaning him back to Dortmund for the rest of the season.
Dortmund are currently fourth in the Bundesliga standings, seven points behind leaders RB Leipzig.
