Starters

De Gea: 6/10

Not really tested much. United were overwhelmed and conceded early, but dominated the game after that.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka: 8/10

Great energy on both sides of the ball from AWB today. He even looked great going forward, and set up Rashford for a great headed goal.

Victor Lindelof: 6/10

Caught scrambling early, but settled in. Useful in the passing game and supported possession well. Had a crack at goal, but sent it well over.

Harry Maguire: 7/10

Other than the goal conceded had a very strong performance. He’s looking more confident on the ball, and may actually score with his feet before he scores with his head the way he goes forward.

Luke Shaw: 6/10

Shaw Looked a bit shaky again, but settled after a while along with the rest of the back 4. Did well getting forward, but still doesn’t like back to 100%.

Scott McTominay: 6/10

Much better performance than what we saw at Watford. Unfortunately he picked up and early knock and an early yellow, but it didn’t hinder him too much. Taken off at the half, presumably a precaution with another match 48 hours away.

Fred: 7/10

Another player who improved from the weekend. Gave the ball away a couple times, but overall contributed really well to possession, which United dominated.

Andreas Pereira: 6.5/10

Still not a convincing display at the 10, but Pereira was able to show some of the creativity and vision that made him an exciting prospect not long ago.

Marcus Rashford: 8/10

Rashford was a lot more confident today, and he linked up very well with the midfield and front line. Got a nice headed goal too, which will likely fuel more CR7 comparisons.

Mason Greenwood: 8/10

Excellent display from Greenwood. He had a lot of hype coming into the first team, but he’s living up to it so far. He could complete a potential front 3 with Rash and Tony.

Anthony Martial: 10/10

Man of the Match display from Martial. Excellent finishing to bag a brace, but it was his work to get involved in build up play that made him the standout performer today. Very promising to see him work to get involved.

Substitutes

Paul Pogba: 6/10

Got a good half of work in, but the game was well in hand. Still, great to have him back.

Juan Mata: 6/10

Had some nice contributions, but didn’t get the finishes to compliment.

Jesse Lingard: 5/10

Came on with plenty of time, but didn’t make much of an impact.

Manager

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer: 8/10

Managed the game well. Took off Rashford and Martial I’m good form to save them for the weekend, and got some playing time for Pogba as well. The team didn’t start well, but responded with a flurry after going down. hopefully we see more of the same on Saturday.
