This is a huge blow to United who were rumored to be the favored club for Haaland. United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer visited Haaland two weeks ago, and coached him before in Norway. Reports have since emerged that United were not prepared to meet the demands of Haaland’s agent, related to a buyout clause and future sell-on fee.
Haaland’s deal will run until 2024 and will he will reportedly be paid £130,000 a week at Dortmund. He will be paired up with another United transfer target and England international Jadon Sancho to form a very intimidating combination for Dortmund who currently sit fourth in Germany.
The striker will be a huge loss for RB Salzburg, who he has provided with 16 goals and six assists in 14 Austrian Bundesliga matches.
