Manchester United kick off in the first Premier League match this weekend against Fulham, and so have a chance to climb to fourth (!!!) with a win in London before their rivals have laced their boots. Fulham are firmly in a relegation battle, and are looking likely to go down despite the best efforts of Claudio Ranieri. In a hectic run of matches over the next four weeks, this match is one of the more forgiving challenges for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men, on paper at least. But desperate teams clawing for top-flight survival are always dangerous, and United would do well not to approach this game as if three points were guaranteed.

Solskjaer’s last attempt at rotation did not go as smoothly as hoped, as points were dropped to Burnley, but we should expect some changes today anyway. With Paris Saint-Germain visiting Old Trafford on Tuesday for the first leg of a tie that now seems far more winnable than it did two months ago, Solskjaer will be wary of burning out his best players.

Premier League schedule

Lunchtime 12:30 kickoff in the UK, which translates to 07:30 on the east coast and an ungodly 04:30 on the west. Just don’t bother going to bed.
