The Mirror reports that Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has decided on his wishlist for the summer transfer window, with four players under consideration.
As reported yesterday, Jadon Sancho is the main target, and he would cost around £100 million to secure him from Borussia Dortmund. The 19-year-old England international is expected to join in the summer and he has been a target for United since at least the turn of the year.
Another player wanted by United is Chelsea’s winger Callum Hudson-Odoi. The 18-year-old forward is out of contract at Stamford Bridge in 2020 and has been the subject of a rejected £30 million bid from Bayern Munich already. Chelsea are set to appeal their transfer ban in order to at least stock up on talent in the summer, and that would give United an easier run at securing Hudson-Odoi even if Eden Hazard leaves Chelsea for Real Madrid.
Aaron Wan-Bisssaka, Crystal Palace’s exciting young full-back, is another player wanted. He has been rated at £40 million and Roy Hodgson has acknowledged that he could soon leave. Ashley Young would then become a back-up player, with Antonio Valencia expected to leave when his contract runs out this summer.
The fourth player who could arrive is Napoli’s central defender Kalidou Koulibaly, who has been linked with a move to the Premier League for a couple of seasons, and could cost in excess of £100 million. Quite whether Ed Woodward would be able to buy him when he could continue to force Chris Smalling and Phil Jones on the fans for a few years yet is another matter, but there remains some hope that Solskjaer is not going to persist with the utter doggerel available to him in central defence.
