The Paulo Dybala transfer saga — it’s actually only been a few days, but we feel aged — continues. The latest reports paint a picture of Juventus being very motivated to get the rumored swap deal done, with Dybala headed to Manchester United and Romelu Lukaku headed the other way. Juventus now appear to be on the brink of forcing Dybala out, by telling him not to bother reporting for training until next week.
A teammate of Dybala who formerly played for United is even said to have encouraged the move on a group Whatsapp. To add further intrigue, chief incompetent Ed Woodward has been spotted at United’s London offices, perhaps on transfer-related business.

Lukaku and Dybala may not be the only items on Woodward’s agenda, however, as Sky Sport Italia are reporting that a potential move for Mario Mandzukić is on the table as well.
In addition to the potential Dybala-Lukaku swap deal, #Juventus and #ManUtd also discussed Mario #Mandzukic today @goal

Mandzukić would be a veteran presence and an interesting option off the bench, but it would be hard to see how he would fit Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s preferred style. It could be that Juventus are just trying to drum up interest in a player that they would happily cash in on, or maybe Solskjaer has seen the need to add experience to what would be a very young attacking core. With less than a week left in the transfer window, we’ll know soon enough.
