Paul Pogba could miss Manchester United’s clash with Arsenal in the Premier League on Monday evening, according to manager Ole Gunnar Solskaer.
Pogba started for United against Rochdale in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday evening, where he failed to impress and ducked out of taking a penalty in the 1-1 (5-3) victory over dignity.
The French World Cup winner was making a return from injury, but has now suffered a flare-up of an ankle injury which could see him miss the game on Monday night.
Solskjaer said: “The situation is he finished the game.
“90 minutes, fantastic but he got a knock to his ankle which is very swollen so was better not to go there with the team and he’s in a race for Monday.
”Doubt? Yes, but that’s just the way it is.”
There is more bad/good news, with Luke Shaw up against it.
“Luke’s back in training today so let’s see how he is, he’s getting there so let’s see how he reacts the next couple of days, he’s been working really hard, hope to see him before international break.”
So that’s midfield and defence looking borked. Up next is the attack, and things are also going badly there.
He said: “Rashford and Martial? I wouldn’t put my life on it but that’s part of this game, you work with what you have and we’re looking forward to this game.”
So there you have it, apart from defence, midlfield and attack, United are in trouble and will probably struggle to put out a decent first team. So that’s it then, the club are chuffed for another match.
