Manchester United winger Tahith Chong looks set for a move to Inter Milan after his agent was spotted in Italy.

Erkan Alkan was seen meeting representatives in Italy following rumours that Chong will not sign a new deal at Old Trafford.

The 20-year-old Dutch international was given a rare start against Wolverhampton in the FA Cup in the third round tie, but he was substituted in the second half after a disappointing performance. Chong has rarely impressed in first team action but has attracted attention after a string of performances for the reserve teams.

Chong is nevertheless frustrated that he has been afforded few chances in the first team for United, and like Angel Gomes he has been expected to see his contract run out this summer before leaving on a free transfer. The Netherlands winger has made just 11 appearances for United, and played seven times this season.

Juventus have been also been linked with Chong as they search for transfer bargains, but Inter Milan have been scouring the Premier League for their targets. They have Romelu Lukaku up front, and have also got Alexis Sanchez on loan from Manchester United. In addition, they have been linked with Nemanja Matic, who expects to leave the club at the end of the season and restart his career in Italy.

United are reportedly interested in Bruno Fernandes of Sporting Lisbon, with Sporting willing to make a deal on a lower price than was proposed to club in the summer. A fee of £60 million could be enough to secure the 25-year-old Portuguese international.

The club need to sign a midfielder following injuries to both Scott McTominay and Paul Pogba, who both could be out of action for the next two or three months. There have also been suggestions a central defender could be signed on loan.
