Manchester United have completed their second signing of the 2020 January window, bringing in goalkeeper Nathan Bishop from Southend United on a 2 12 year deal.

Bishop, 20, made 39 appearances for Southend after joining the first team in 2017, and is looking forward to continuing his development with Manchester United’s first team and goalkeeping staff.

“The opportunity to join Manchester United is a dream come true,” Bishop said. “This club has a great record of developing goalkeepers and I cannot wait to work with the coaches here to improve every single day.”

Bishop joins a crowded room of goalkeeping talent, featuring David De Gea and Sergio Romero with Dean Henderson impressing on loan at Sheffield United. He may yet get a chance in future cup matches, but for now he’ll continue to perfect his craft with some of the best in the world.
