As Manchester United wrapped up morning training and made preparations to travel to Paris for their Champions League match against PSG on Tuesday, there were some notable omissions from the squad.
According to the Manchester Evening News, Edinson Cavani, Mason Greenwood, Eric Bailly, Jesse Lingard, and Harry Maguire have not traveled with the team and will not feature in Tuesday’s match.

Cavani had been hoping to make his first appearance for United against his former team but after the two-week mandatory Covid-19 guidelines, the striker has only been training with the team since Sunday and isn’t quite match fit.
Harry Maguire is nursing a hamstring strain and despite playing in the 4-1 win against Newcastle he was seen holding the area at numerous points in the second half.
Mason Greenwood will not feature at the Parc des Princes after missing Saturday’s 4-1 win away to Newcastle United through an unspecified fitness issue, while Bailly and Lingard have apparently picked up knocks as well.
Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer provided this update to reporters on Monday:
“Yeah we’ve lost a couple. Bailly didn’t travel and Lingard didn’t travel. So we’re a little bit deflated but we have more than enough players.
“We hope the players won’t be away too long. Edinson needs a few more days before he’s ready. Hopefully Harry, Eric and Mason, but we’re not too sure on that.”
Despite missing Saturday’s match due to suspension, Anthony Martial is expected to start on Tuesday. His red card three match suspension only applies to Premier League matches and he is therefore eligible to play on Tuesday.
In the absence of club captain Maguire, Solskjaer also made the surprise announcement that Bruno Fernandes will captain the side for the first time in Tuesday’s match.
Manchester United’s squad to face PSG: David de Gea, Dean Henderson, Brandon Williams, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Axel Tuanzebe, Victor Lindelöf, Luke Shaw, Alex Telles, Timothy Fosu-Mensah, Scott McTominay, Bruno Fernandes, Paul Pogba, Fred, Nemanja Matic, Marcus Rashford, Facundo Pellistri, Daniel James, Odion Ighalo Juan Mata, Anthony Martial, Donny van de Beek.
