The transfer window is closing soon (Monday), and Manchester United appear to be scrambling looking for alternatives if the dream move for Jadon Sancho falls through.

One player being heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford is ex-PSG striker Edinson Cavani. The 33-year-old Uruguay international is without a club since leaving Paris Saint-Germain in the summer when his contract expired.

Initial reports from French paper L’Equipe claim that United is offering a one-year contract, with the option to extend for a further 12 months with financial terms around the 10mil mark.

Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wants to sign a striker before Monday’s transfer deadline and the club are now putting in the legwork to sign Cavani on a free transfer.

It has been claimed that Cavani might have to lower his wage demands in order to move to Manchester United in the ongoing transfer window.

The Uruguayan striker scored 200 goals in 301 appearances for PSG during his seven-year stay at the Parc des Princes.
