Manchester United return to Premier League action after the umpteenth international break of the season with a home game against newly-promoted West Bromwich Albion on Saturday. It’s a game Ole Gunnar Solskjær’s side really ought to win, and one they need to win if Solskjær is going to stave off more rumours of an imminent demise.
The Baggies haven’t won a game all season, and find themselves in the drop zone with just three points from their opening eight games. Slaven Bilić’s side are looking like they’re going to be in the relegation fight for the long haul, and their inexperienced first-team squad doesn’t inspire confidence that they’ve got what it takes to survive.
United will certainly be without Eric Bailly and Luke Shaw; Harry Maguire, Victor Lindelöf, Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial are all doubts. West Brom will be without Sam Field, Hal Robson-Kanu and Callum Robinson. Two Baggies players have tested positive for COVID-19, and won’t be available, though we don’t yet know their identities.
Premier League schedule
It’s an unusually late 20:00 kickoff in the UK, which translates to 15:00 on the east coast of the U.S. and a pleasant 12:00 on the west. Enjoy your lie-in!
