Starters

David De Gea: 6/10

Horrible howler in the 3rd minute to gift Everton a goal. He made up for it with some good saves under a lot of pressure, but his mistake ultimately cost United 2 points.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka: 6/10

Wasted a couple attacking opportunities, and had some trouble with Richarlison and Calvert-Lewin.

Victor Lindelof: 6/10

Decent performance despite being under pressure for most of the second half. Did alright on the ball as well. Still needs to work on his aerial game.

Harry Maguire: 7/10

Strong performance on the back line, and vital to defending several corners. Nearly had a costly own goal, but was bailed out by VAR.

Luke Shaw: 7/10

Very good game defensively. Dealt well with pressure despite picking up a yellow early on. Looking more and more like the Luke Shaw that won club POTS last year.

Fred: 5/10

Had a decent first half, but struggled mightily in the second. Had a couple bad giveaways, and looked overwhelmed and frustrated. Formation probably didn’t suit him, and saw him cover quite a lot of the pitch.

Scott McTominay: 5/10

Failed to really influence the match, subbed off in the second half after a disappointing day. The slightly wider midfield role didn’t suit him.

Nemanja Matic: 7/10

Solid display in midfield from Matic. Calm on the ball, and much more active disrupting the opposition than we’ve seen from him. In a decent run of form.

Bruno Fernandes: 8/10

Once again the best player on the pitch for United. Really well taken goal, and created the bulk of United’s chances.

Mason Greenwood: 4/10

Had his hands full dealing with Mason Holgate, and he couldn’t find a meaningful chance after missing a header early.

Anthony Martial: 5/10

Looked a bit directionless at times in a 4-4-2 formation. Pushed out wide left in the second, but was very ineffective.

Substitutes

Juan Mata: 4/10

Replaced McTominay, but did nothing to settle a panicked midfield.

Odion Ighalo: 5/10

Had a decent chance saved by Pickford.

Brandon Williams: N/A

Didn’t do much other than hand Bruno a piece of paper, but looked strong after picking up a knock a while ago.

Manager

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer: 4/10

United started the game looking the stronger side despite conceding a brain fart mistake. However, the second half performance was very poor, and Ole’s adjustments wound up hurting United even more. Poor substitutions again, and another match where United dropped points due to being out managed.
