Barcelona’s famed La Masia academy has produced the likes of Lionel Messi, Andres Iniesta, Carles Puyol, and Pep Guardiola to name a few, and now their newest up and coming star dubbed “the leader of his generation,” Marc Jurado, has caught the eye of Manchester United.
The 16-year-old wunderkind plays center-back, and Barça as you can expect to want to keep him as long as possible. They are reportedly optimistic about getting him under a long-term contract when he is eligible.
According to Sport, a Spanish paper, United emailed Barça regarding Jurado and their plans. United have identified Jurado as a huge talent and a key target to develop his skill in United’s own famed academy.
United have had previous experience recruiting from La Masia — former Red Devil Gerard Pique was a member of the academy.
