Yesterday, we gave you some of our favorite Manchester United kits from over the years. But for all the beauties that the Reds have worn, the kit makers have also tried to force some true abominations on us over the years as well. Here are the worst Manchester United kits of all time in our memory.
1992-93 Away Kit

For me, the choice of the worst Manchester United kit has to be the 92/93 away kit. Considering the legends that were on that team, they still couldn’t help make that jersey look good. That squad had names like Mark Hughes, Ryan Giggs, and The King, Eric Cantona!...and they still couldn’t make that kit look good. - VR

This kit would be ugly enough on it’s own, what brings it over the top was the decision to wear black shorts at home. Just throwing tradition completely out the window. Disgusting. Once you saw that this was the kit United were going to wear all season you knew the season was going to be an absolute cluster**** (add in that it was third year Mourinho). Last year was a disaster of a season, so it’s only fitting that this disaster of a kit is associated with it. - PK

A noble effort at creativity, but ultimately just out of place and weird.
Maybe a controversial take, as I know a few friends who really liked this shirt, but to me the chevron jersey is just too much. Maybe it made me think of the actual company Chevron, and the fat AIG logo was already the start of obnoxious corporate logos on United kits (though they couldn’t possibly ruin the brilliant 2006-07 and 2007-09 shirts), but the design is an unnecessary change on a classic red kit. The black trim around the collar looks fine, and perhaps another secondary color design would have sufficed, but this one is too out there for me. - CD
2017-18 Third Kit
My eyes! MY EYES! What a monstrosity. Usually, kit releases follow the same pattern as website redesigns. Early mockups are leaked, and most people declare in no uncertain terms that they hate the new look. Then, with time — and better quality leaks — the new look starts to grow on us. Finally, by the time the official release rolls around, not only are the new kits “not actually that bad,” but some even say that they’re good! Rinse and repeat in 10 months.
That wasn’t the case for these though. When this fan submitted designed (seriously) first leaked, everyone was absolutely sure that it was a joke. It was too bad to be real. Surely. Well — it turned out to be real, and we had to watch the players wear it real life. This kit is so hideous that, on general principle, it has now usurped the most infamous ugly grey kit in United history to make this list. - BM
