Left-back Brandon Williams and goalkeeper Dean Henderson just recently signed new long-term contracts to stay at Manchester United, but according to reports on ESPN, the young duo are rumored to be getting new deals to reflect the growth they have shown at United and on-loan.
Williams signed his deal in October but after making 26 appearances in all competitions this season (so far), manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer sees how valuable he is to the long-term success of United.
Contract negotiations would bring his wages more in line with the likes of striker Mason Greenwood and winger Tahith Chong. Williams currently earns £4,000-a-week.
At just 19 years old, Williams wasn’t even included in United’s pre-season tour last summer but has quickly cemented himself in the starting lineup this season.
Speaking about his young superstar, Solskjaer said earlier this year:
“His hunger is a lesson for everyone who wants to be a footballer, the attitude he’s showing. It’ll be up to him, myself and the club to keep him that hungry. I don’t expect him to change because he’s got the heart for it.
“He’s been absolutely outstanding since he came in. Every challenge we’ve put in front of him he’s tackled head-on.”
On-loan Manchester United and Sheffield United star goalkeeper Dean Henderson is also rumored to be the next player getting an improved contract, as he expects to soon challenge for David De Gea’s number one jersey.
