Manchester United continue to build for the future with Friday’s reported signing of promising 17-year-old Serbian Filip Stevanovic.

According to reports, United have agreed on a €12m (£10.8m) deal for the youngster who plays for Partizan Belgrade. Stevanovic could officially arrive this summer, but is likely to spend another 12 months on loan with Partizan before linking up with the Premier League side in 2021.

The Serbia Under-19 international enjoyed an impressive 2019-20 campaign for his club, scoring nine times and contributing three assists in 35 appearances in all competitions.

Stevanovic played twice against United in the group stages of this season’s Europa League and has previously been linked with Liverpool, Manchester City, Chelsea, Bayern Munich, and Real Madrid.

Stevanovic became the youngest player to score in a UEFA competition for Partizan last August. He scored his first goal for the club aged just 16, against Welsh side Connah’s Quay.

Andreas Pereira set for exit

Reports coming out of Spain are hinting that Andreas Pereira’s future at Old Trafford will be becoming to an end this season, even though team officials are trying to convince the Brazilian to stay.

Finding himself out of the lineup since the January signing of Bruno Fernandes, Pereira has only recorded 56 minutes of game time since the restart. As a result, Pereira wants out of Manchester, citing his lack of play.

He has endured a difficult season, scoring just once in 25 appearances. Now, it looks as if the 24-year-old could be on his way out for good.

According to the Brazilian sports channel Esporte Interativo, Pereira will leave Old Trafford this summer.

Translated, the tweet reads:

“According to Esporte Interativo reporter Fred Caldeira, Andreas Pereira is leaving Manchester United and will not remain at the club next season. Negotiations have begun with clubs in Portugal, Spain, and Germany.”

While it’s unclear exactly where the Brazilian will be playing his football next season, the chances of it being Old Trafford appear to be slim.

In his six years as a pro at Manchester United, Pereira has made just 45 league appearances, scoring two goals and making four assists. He was a part of the United side that won the FA Cup in 2015/16.

He has had previous spells on loan in Spain — at Granada and Valencia respectively.
