Manchester United have reached a loan agreement with Championship side Watford for James Garner in hopes of getting him playing more top-level experience this season.
The 19-year-old midfielder is one of United’s brightest young talents but found the step up to first-team action tough with the established talent in front of him.

The lack of playing time prompted U-23s coach Neil Wood and first team manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to make the decision to send him out on a season-long loan.
Garner was named United’s U-23 Player of the Year last term, scoring eight goals in 10 Premier League 2 games and captaining the team for much of the season.
Garner is expected to challenge Will Hughes and Nathaniel Chalobah for a central midfield starting berth at Watford. Garner will wear number 16 and is available for selection as Watford visit Sheffield Wednesday this weekend.
