Manchester United Women have announced the signings of United States stars Christen Press and Tobin Heath on one-year deals. The pair of World Cup winners help bolster an already talented squad looking to improve upon a 4th place finish last season.
These welcome reinforcements come just after Casey Stoney’s side drew 1-1 with Chelsea, who are defending FA WSL champions and favorites to repeat after an impressive transfer of their own. With these two USWNT stars United add considerable quality and experience to their front line, which struggled to score last season, and make a statement of intent to become one of the top women’s clubs in the world.
United’s transfer haul for this season also includes forward Ivana Fuso from FC Basel, Carrie Jones from Cardiff City, England international Lucy Staniforth from Birmingham City, and Charlotte Newsham from Blackburn Rovers.
Manchester United Women are back in action this coming weekend, away at Birmingham City.
