Manchester United host Southampton at Old Trafford on Tuesday, needing a win to keep their Premier League title-contending hopes from fading. The Reds have only one point in their last two matches, and find themselves three points adrift of Manchester City at the summit, and having played a game more than their local rivals as well.
Southampton are usually a tough nut to crack, but United may be aided by the Saints’ injury report — Ralph Hasenhuttl is missing a glut of first-team players. United themselves have a number of players who have looked weary after the hectic winter schedule, so Ole Gunnar Solskjaer may be forced into some rotation.
