Over the last 24 hours, there have been several reports linking 18-year-old French international Eduardo Camavinga to Manchester United. The first came from the Daily Mail and United’s interest was then confirmed by French journalist Mohamed Bouhafsi.
Bouhafsi went a step further, clarifying that the midfielder from French side Rennes would prefer to stay in France and that his entourage will be meeting with United officials next week. Camavinga’s represented by Jonathan Barnett, who represents a host of United players including Luke Shaw, Daniel James, Dean Henderson, et al.
Manchester United has officially expressed interest in #Camavinga . Man #United will even meet his entourage next week to convince him to join United. PSG remains the priority of the player. He would like to stay in France. Free in June 2022.

Camavinga was also mentioned in an article from the Telegraph’s Mike McGrath as the sort of midfielder United have been looking into. United were linked quite heavily with Jude Bellingham last season and Camavinga would fall into the same bracket.
Much could depend on the future of Paul Pogba but it’s hard to identify where exactly Camavinga fits into this United side. He’s an exceptional talent, who made his name at the tender age of 16. His defensive numbers rack up alongside the best in Europe. He’s quite comfortable on the ball, racking up high dribble numbers.
He likes to drive with the ball and is good under pressure but isn’t probably the holding midfielder that United are lacking in the mold of Nemanja Matic. The youngster has also been used on the right of midfield because of this ability to drive with the ball.
Regardless, it would be a significant coup from the Reds if it does happen. Paris Saint Germain are packed in the midfield department and it shouldn’t be hard to convince the young superstar for game time at Old Trafford. United won’t just be buying potential here.
The 18-year-old, as mentioned previously, is already a French international and has played in the Champions League against top opposition.
